Frequently asked questions
How to care for your piece
Stained Glass
Use a soft, clean cloth and avoid ammonia-based cleaners. If you notice white buildup in the solder joins, it's normal and can develop over time! I recommend taking a toothpick and carefully removing the residue, then wiping gently with a paper towel or a microfiber cloth. Remember to not apply too much pressure as you wipe!
If your piece uses any enamels or wire overlay details, please use caution when wiping over these areas. Too much force may result in scratching, removing, or damaging these details.
Fused Glass
Gently wipe smudges clean using a microfiber towel. If your piece is food safe, please only wash with warm water and dish soap, and dry with a towel.
Handling stained glass
Stained glass pieces contain lead in the metal solder and frame around the outer edge. Always wash hands after handling and keep away from children and pets.
And remember that your piece is made with glass and is delicate. Please handle it with care and love!
Displaying
Never use a suction cup to hang any piece. Suction cups will eventually fail and will result in a damaged piece. It is always recommended that you hang a piece from a stud, drywall anchors, or from a secure bar with hooks.
Shipping
Ready to ship pieces will ship as soon as possible after ordering via the USPS. Made to order pieces will have a lead time provided on the listing, and will be shipped upon completion within the timeframe.
When I am accepting commissions, please keep in mind that commissions may have a variety in lead time that will be discussed upon commission discussion.
Repairs
I am always available to repair a piece that has been purchased from me. Pricing for repairs vary, let's chat about it! I'm not currently offering repairs on pieces not made by myself, but I'd be happy to help find an artist for you! Email me at sillygoofglass@giorgie.co
